Abstract
Demensia vaskular adalah kurangnya suplai darah ke otak yang memengaruhi fungsi dasar tubuh serebrovaskular. Serai (Cymbopogon citratus) merupakan tumbuhan yang mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder yaitu flavonoid yang telah terbukti memiliki sifat anti demensia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak metanol daun serai dan dosis yang paling efektif digunakan sebagai obat anti demensia pada mencit demensia vaskular. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental sejati dengan pre-test evaluasi dan post-test control group design in vivo. Hewan uji yang digunakan adalah mencit Swiss Webster yang dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok, masing-masing kelompok berisi 6 ekor mencit. Kelompok normal, kontrol negatif (CMC-Na 0,5%), kontrol positif (Citikolin 1,95 mg / kg BB), uji ekstrak daun serai 25 mg / kg BB, 50 mg / kg BB, dan 100 mg / kg BB. Perawatan dilakukan selama 15 hari. Parameter pengujian demensia vaskular yang dapat dilakukan adalah lamanya waktu tikus mengenali objek atau objek dengan menggunakan metode novel object recognition (NOR). Data hasil uji anti demensia dilakukan uji beda nyata (independent sample t-test), ANOVA, dan Paired-sample (pre-post) (p> 0,05) dengan menggunakan SPSS 16.00. Pemberian ekstrak metanol daun serai dapur (Cymbopogon citratus) mampu mencegah hilangnya memori model tikus demensia vaskuler. Dosis yang paling efektif untuk mencegah hilang ingatan pada tikus demensia vaskular adalah dosis 25 mg / kg BB untuk mencit. --- Vascular dementia is a lack of blood supply to the brain which affects the basic functions of the cerebrovascular body. Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) is a plant that contains secondary metabolites, namely flavonoids, which have been shown to have anti-dementia properties. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the methanol extract of lemongrass leaves and the most effective dosage used as an anti-dementia drug in vascular dementia mice. The design of this research is true experimental research with pre-test evaluation and post-test control group design in vivo. The test animals used were Swiss Webster mice which were divided into 6 groups, each group containing 6 mice. Normal group, negative control (CMC-Na 0.5%), positive control (Citikolin 1.95 mg / kg BW), citronella leaf extract test 25 mg / kg BW, 50 mg / kg BW, and 100 mg / kg BW . The treatment is carried out for 15 days. The parameter of vascular dementia testing that can be done is the length of time the rats recognize objects or objects using the novel object recognition (NOR) method. Data on the results of anti-dementia testing were performed significantly different tests (independent sample t-test), ANOVA, and Paired-sample (pre-post) (p> 0.05) using SPSS 16.00. Providing methanol extract of lemongrass leaves kitchen (Cymbopogon citratus) is able to prevent memory loss the mice model of vascular dementia. The most effective dose for preventing memory loss in vascular dementia rats is a dose of 25 mg / kg BW for mice.
