Abstract

Alfa mangostin adalah senyawa mayor dari xanton yang memiliki berbagai macam aktivitas farmakologi diantaranya antioksidan, antibakteri, antiinflamasi, antialergi, antifungi. Melihat aktivitas farmakologinya ini, maka perlu diketahui kelarutannya karena masih terbatasnya informasi mengenai kelarutan alfa mangostin di beberapa pelarut. Pada penelitian ini alfa mangostin diuji kelarutan menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%, asetonitril dan n-heksana dengan volume masing-masing 20 ml hingga terdapat endapan. Larutan alfa mangostin disaring dengan kertas saring, dipisahkan filtrat dan residu. Filtrat dan residu diuapkan kemudian ditimbang untuk digunakan dalam analisis gravimetri. Filtrat dilarutkan dalam pelarut metanol kemudian dianalisis menggunakan spektrofotometri UVVis. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwa kelarutan pada etanol 96% sebesar 0,12 g/ml dengan perbandingan 1:83 bagian, pada asetonitril sebesar 0,04 g/ml dengan perbandingan 1:25 bagian dan pada n-heksana sebesar 0,0003 g/ml dengan perbandingan 1:3333 bagian. Berdasarkan uji gravimetri terhadap filtrat yang terlarut didapatkan hasil kelarutan dalam pelarut etanol 96% sebesar 3,6643g, dalam asetonitril sebanyak 1,7293g, dalam n-heksana sebanyak 0,0475g. Dapat disimpulkan senyawa alfa mangostin bersifat larut dalam pelarut etanol 96% dan asetonitril serta bersifat tidak larut dalam pelarut n-heksana. --- Alpha mangostin is a major compound of xanthones which has various pharmacological activities including antioxidant, antibacterial, antiinflammatory, anti-allergic, antifungal. Seeing this pharmacological activity, it is necessary to know its solubility because there is still limited information regarding the solubility of alpha mangostin in several solvents. In this study, alpha mangostin was tested for solubility using 96% ethanol, acetonitrile and nhexane with a volume of 20 ml each until there was a precipitate. The alpha mangostin solution was filtered through filter paper, the filtrate and residue were separated. The filtrate and the evaporated residue are then weighed for use in gravimetric analysis. The filtrate was dissolved in methanol and then analyzed using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Based on the test results show that the solubility in ethanol 96% is 0.12 g/ml with a ratio of 1:83 parts, in acetonitrile is 0.04 g/ml with a ratio of 1:25 parts and in n-hexane is 0.0003 g/ml. ml in a ratio of 1:3333 parts. Based on the gravimetric test of the dissolved filtrate, the solubility in ethanol 96% was 3.6643g, in acetonitrile as much as 1.7293g, in n-hexane as much as 0.0475g. It can be concluded that the compound alpha mangostin is soluble in 96% ethanol and acetonitrile and is insoluble in n-hexane solvent.
