Abstract
Formula suplemen kesehatan yang terdiri dari kurkuminoid, piperin dan minyak ikan berkhasiat sebagai penambah nafsu makan anak. Informasi mengenai uji toksisitas dari suplemen kesehatan adalah untuk menjamin keamanan penggunaan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui nilai LD50 serta gejala toksisitas berdasarkan hasil pengamatan yang terjadi pada organ lambung, ginjal dan hati setelah diberikan suplemen kesehatan secara oral pada hewan percobaan. Metode uji toksisitas oral yang digunakan adalah metode OECD 425 Up and Down Procedure dengan dosis 5000 mg/kgBB dan data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan software AOT425StatPgm (Acute Oral Toxicity Guideline 425 Statistical Programme). Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan tidak adanya gejala toksisitas selama 14 hari, namun hasil skoring pada histopatologi organ menunjukkan adanya erosi mukosa pada lambung, degenerasi dan nekrosis pada hati serta ginjal. Dari data dan pengamatan yang diperoleh walaupun termasuk kategori tidak toksik berdasarkan nilai LD50 pada dosis >5000 mg/kgBB, namun dengan adanya gejala kelainan pada organ lambung, ginjal dan hati maka disarankan kehati-hatian terhadap penggunaan berlebih. --- The health supplement formula consisting of curcuminoids, piperine and fish oil is efficacious as a child's appetite enhancer. Information regarding the toxicity test of health supplements is to ensure safe use. The purpose of this study was to determine the LD50 value and symptoms of toxicity based on observations that occurred in the stomach, kidneys and liver after oral health supplements in experimental animals. The oral toxicity test method used was the OECD 425 Up and Down Procedure with a dose of 5000 mg/kgBW and the data obtained were analyzed using the AOT425StatPgm (Acute Oral Toxicity Guideline 425 Statistical Program) software. The results showed no symptoms of toxicity for 14 days, but the results of scoring on the histopathology of the organs showed mucosal erosions in the stomach, degeneration and necrosis of the liver and kidneys. From the data and observations obtained, even though it is not toxic based on the LD50 value at a dose of > 5000 mg/kgBW, but with symptoms of disorders of the stomach, kidneys and liver, it is advisable to be careful of excessive use.
