Abstract
Suplemen JET-20 merupakan produk baru hasil para peneliti STFI yang diformulasikan penggunaannya untuk membantu meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh, komposisinya terdiri dari isolat alfa-mangostin, kurkuminoid, piperin, metil sinamat dan vitamin C. Suatu produk baru perlu dilakukan kajian keamanan penggunaannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil hematologi pasca pemberian oral suplemen JET-20 selama 28 hari pada tikus Wistar (Rattus norvegicus) dalam rangka uji toksisitas subkronis menggunakan metode OECD 407. Pada penelitian ini tikus dikelompokkan menjadi 6 kelompok uji, yaitu kelompok normal, kelompok uji dosis 7,2mg/Kgbb, 500mg/Kgbb, 1000 mg/Kgbb, satelit normal, dan satelit 1000 mg/Kgbb. Pemberian suplemen JET-20 terhadap hewan uji tidak menunjukkan gejala toksisitas maupun kematian, namun hasil pengamatan hematologi menunjukkan adanya kelainan morfologi eritrosit pada bentuk dan ukuran. Penelitian lebih lanjut perlu dilakukan untuk meyakinkan apakah kelainan ini merupakan dampak pemberian sediaan, atau terjadi karena faktor penanganan sampel darah. --- The JET-20 supplement is a new product produced by STFI researchers which are formulated to help increase endurance, its composition consists of alphamangosteen isolate, curcuminoids, piperine, methyl cinnamate, and vitamin C. A new product needs to be studied for its safety. This study aims to determine the hematological profile after oral administration of JET-20 supplements for 28 days in Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) in the context of a subchronic toxicity test using the OECD 407 method. In this study, the rats were grouped into 6 test groups, namely the normal group, the low dose test group of 7.2 mg/Kg BW, medium dose (500mg/Kg BW), high dose (1000 mg/Kg BW), normal and high dose satellite groups (1000 mg/Kg BW). The administration animals did not show any signs of toxicity or death, but the results of hematological observations showed that there were morphological abnormalities of erythrocytes in shape and size. Further research needs to be done to ascertain whether this abnormality is the result of the administration of the preparation, or occurs due to factors in the handling of blood samples.
