Abstract
Bambu gombong (Gigantochloa pseudoarundinaceae) termasuk salah satu bambu yang dimanfaatkan menjadi arang aktif. Bambu gombong mengandung gugus aktif hidroksi fenolik, epoksi dan metoksil yang bersifat antimikroba sehingga dapat dikembangkan sebagai sediaan kosmetik untuk penggunaan topikal seperti masker gel peel-off. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui formula dasar yang dapat digunakan sebagai basis sediaan masker gel peel-off arang aktif yang berkhasiat sebagai anti jerawat. Formulasi dasar masker gel peel-off yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah film agent, gelling agent, penstabil carbomer, plasticizers, humektan, pengawet din pembawa. Pada pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan menggunakan metode cakram dengan konsentrasi nilai konsentrasi hambat minimum (KHM) 50%, 25%, 12,5% dan 6,25%. Hasil pengujian aktivitas antibakteri yang dilakukan diperoleh hasil bahwa konsentrasi hambatan minimum (KHM) arang aktif bambu gombong terdapat pada konsentrasi 6,25% dengan diameter hambat sebesar 0,7 0,57 mm dengan kategori lemah. Pada formulasi menggunakan 3 variasi gelling agent yaitu pada formula 1 menggunakan CMC Na 2,5%, forrnula 2 menggunakan HPMC 2% dan formula 3 menggunakan Carbomer 940 1,25%. Hasil dari ketiga formula tersebut telah diketahui bahwa hasil evaluasi yang memenuhi persyaratan karakteristik fisik yaitu organoleptis, homogenitas, daya sebar dan waktu mengering. --- Gombong bamboo (Gigantochloa pseudoarundinaceae) is one of the bamboos used as activated charcoal. Gombong bamboo contains phenolic, epoxy and methoxyl hydroxy active groups which are antimicrobial so that they can be developed as cosmetic preparations for topical use such as peel-off gel masks. The purpose of this study was to determine the basic formula that can be used as a basis for the preparation of an activated charcoal peel-off gel mask which has anti-acne properties. The basic formulation of the peel-off gel mask used in this study were film agents, gelling agents, carbomer stabilizers, plasticizers, humectants, preservatives and carriers. The antibacterial activity test was carried out using the disc method with the minimum inhibitory concentration values (MIC) of 50%, 25%, 12.5% and 6.25%. The results of the antibacterial activity testing carried out showed that the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of activated charcoal from bamboo gombong was at a concentration of 6.25% with an inhibitory diameter of 0.7±0.57 mm with a weak category. The formulation uses 3 variations of gelling agent, namely formula 1 using CMC Na 2.5%, formula 2 using HPMC 2% and formula 3 using Carbomer 940 1.25%. The results of the three formulas have known that the evaluation results that meet the requirements of physical characteristics are organoleptic, homogeneity, dispersion and drying time.
