Abstract

Ampas kopi arabika merupakan residu dari seduhan kopi yang memiliki senyawa polifenol yaitu senyawa antioksidan dan ampas kopi dapat digunakan sebagai scrub, sehingga dapat dibuat formula sabun padat ampas kopi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan dari ampas kopi arabika dan aktivitas antioksidan sabun padat dari ampas kopi arabika. Formula sabun padat terdiri dari ampas kopi sebagai zat aktif, NaOH, akuades, dan Basis (Minyak kelapa, VCO, dan minyak zaitun), serta parfum kopi. Metode pembuatan sabun padat menggunakan metode cold process. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ampas kopi memiliki nilai IC50 sebesar 236 ppm dapat dikatakan ampas kopi memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sedang (rendah) tetapi masih berpotensi digunakan sebagai antioksidan. Formula sabun padat dari ampas kopi memiliki nilai IC50 sebesar 86,8 ppm dapat dikatakan memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang kuat. ----- Arabica coffee grounds are residues from coffee brewing that have polyphenol compounds, which are antioxidant compounds and coffee grounds can be used as a scrub, so a solid soap formula from coffee grounds can be made. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of arabica coffee grounds and the antioxidant activity of solid soap from arabica coffee grounds. The solid soap formula consists of coffee grounds as the active substance, NaOH, distilled water, and bases (coconut oil, VCO, and olive oil), as well as coffee perfume. The method of making solid soap uses the cold process method. Based on the results of the study, coffee grounds have an IC50 value of 236 ppm, it can be said that coffee grounds have moderate antioxidant activity (low) but still have the potential to be used as an antioxidant. The solid soap formula from coffee grounds has an IC50 value of 86.8 ppm, which can be said to have strong antioxidant activity.
