Abstract

Mangostin adalah senyawa aktif yang diekstraksi dari kulit manggis dan dikenal memiliki berbagai aktivitas farmakologis. Pada formulasi sediaan obat, zat aktif akan diformulasikan bersama eksipien untuk meningkatkan penampilan, bentuk fisik, tekstur, rasa, dan stabilitas. Eksipien yang baik harus memiliki sifat inert dan tidak menimbulkan efek farmakologi pada tubuh, akan tetapi eksipien dapat berinteraksi dengan zat aktif sehingga mempengaruhi stabilitas dan efikasi obat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi inkompatibilitas isolat mangostin terhadap tiga bahan tambahan selulosa komersial, yaitu HPMC, Na CMC, dan MCC, serta mengidentifikasi pengaruhnya terhadap stabilitas isolat mangostin. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode analisis kualitatif dan analisis termal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan eksipien golongan selulosa tidak meningkatkan nilai LOD, tetapi dapat meningkatkan kristalinitas dan titik leleh isolat mangostin berdasarkan hasil XRD dan DSC. Selain itu, golongan selulosa juga dapat menurunkan kadar isolat mangostin, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa golongan selulosa ada indikasi terjadinya inkompatibilitas dengan isolat mangostin. ---- Mangostin is an active compound extracted from mangosteen rind and is known for its various pharmacological activities. In pharmaceutical formulations, active ingredients are combined with excipients to enhance appearance, physical form, texture, taste, and stability. An ideal excipient should be inert and not exert any pharmacological effects on the body; however, excipients can interact with active ingredients, potentially affecting the stability and efficacy of the drug. This study aimed to evaluate the incompatibility of mangostin isolate with three commercial cellulose excipients, namely HPMC, Na CMC, and MCC, and to identify their impact on the stability of mangostin isolate. The methods used included qualitative analysis and thermal analysis. The results showed that cellulose excipients did not increase the LOD values but did enhance the crystallinity and melting point of mangostin isolate based on XRD and DSC results. Additionally, cellulose excipients could reduce the content of mangostin isolate, So it can be conclided that the cellulose group has indications of incompatibility with mangostin isolate.
