Abstract
Tanaman sawo walanda (Pouteria campeciana.Kunt.Behni) merupakan tanaman tropis yang tumbuah di Indonesia. Tanaman sawo walanda memiliki aktivitas antioksidan salah satunya adalah gololongan karotenoid. Karotenoid pada tumbuhan dapat terbentuk pada semua bagian tumbuhan termasuk daun dan buah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kadar total karotenoid dan aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 pada daun dan buah sawo walanda dengan perbedaan kepolaran pelarut. Metode ekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi dengan menggunkan pelarut n-heksan, etil asetat dan n-heksan:etil asetat 1:1. Uji kativitas antioksidan dan kadar total karotenoid menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-sinar tampak. Hasil kadar total karotenoid tertinggi ada pada ekstrak pelarut n-heksan: etil asetat 1:1 pada daun sebesar 48,77 gram BE/100 gram ekstrak pada buah didapatkan persen karoten tertinggi pada pelarut n-heksan:etil asetat 1:1 70,31 BE/gram ekstrak. Hasil aktivitas antioksidan paling tinggi terdapat pada pelarut n-heksan dengan IC50 4,10 μg/ml dan pada buah aktivitas antioksidan paling tinggi didapat dengan pelarut etil asetat sebesar IC50 31,15 μg/ml sehingga daun dan buah sawo walanda dapat digunkan sebagai sumber antioksidan alami.;---Sapodilla walanda (Pouteria campeciana.Kunt.Behni) is a growing tropical plant in Indonesia. Sapodilla walanda has antioxidant activity, one of which is carotenoid group. Carotenoids in plants can be formed in all parts of plants including leaves and fruit. The purpose of this study was to determine the total levels of carotenoids and antioxidant activity with IC50 values in the leaves and sapodilla fruit with different polarity of the solvent. The extraction method uses maceration method by using n-hexane, ethyl acetate and n-hexane: ethyl acetate 1: 1 solvent. Antioxidant activity and total carotenoid levels were tested using UV- visible spectrophotometry. The highest total carotenoid content was found in n- hexane: ethyl acetate 1: 1 extract on leaves at 48.77 gram BE / 100 gram extract in fruit, the highest percentage of carotene was found in n-hexane solvent: ethyl acetate 1: 1 70.31 BE / gram extract. The highest antioxidant activity results were found in the n-hexane solvent with IC50 4.10 μg / ml and the highest antioxidant activity was obtained with ethyl acetate solvent of 31.15 μg / ml so that the leaves and sapodilla fruit could be used as a source of antioxidants natural.
