Abstract

----- Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and remains a major global health problem. Indonesia ranks third in the world for TB cases after India and the Philippines. TB treatment requires a combination of several drugs over a long period, potentially causing Drug-Related Problems (DRPs). This study aims to identify the incidence of DRPs and analyze factors associated with DRPs in pulmonary TB patients at Bandung Kiwari Regional Hospital. This study used an observational method with a retrospective design through a search of TB patient medical records from January–December 2024. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test to examine the relationship between demographic and clinical variables and the incidence of DRPs. Of the total 104 patients, 45 patients (43.3%) experienced DRPs. The most common DRP categories were adverse drug reactions (44.44%), non-compliance (24.45%), and inappropriate dosage (31.1%). Statistical test results showed that gender and age were not significantly associated with DRPs (p>0.05), but comorbidities were highly significant (p<0.001). In conclusion, comorbidities such as diabetes mellitus and hypertension are the main factors influencing the occurrence of DRPs in pulmonary TB patients.
