Abstract
Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner Test of Adherence to Inhalers (TAI). ------ Dry-Powder Inhalers (DPIs) can deliver medication directly to the lungs, which is effective for patients with asthma and COPD. However, patient compliance in using inhalers remains a challenge that affects the success of therapy. This study aims to determine the characteristics of respondents and evaluate the level of compliance with DPI use in patients with asthma and COPD. The study was conducted prospectively at the Pharmacy Department of Bandung Kiwari Regional General Hospital from August-October 2025 using total sampling of 48 respondents (24 asthma patients and 24 COPD patients) who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research instrument used the Test of Adherence to Inhalers (TAI) questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics with SPSS. The results of the study show that the characteristics of the respondents were predominantly female, aged 46–65 years, with a high school or bachelor's degree, married, working as housewives, with an income of <1 million and >3 million per month, and most had been using DPIs for more than 6 months. The conclusion of the study is that the level of compliance shows that the level of patient compliance in the use of DPI is in the poor (43.75%) and moderate (43.75%) categories.
