Abstract

Sawo walanda (Pouteria campheciana) merupakan salah satu tumbuhan yang memiliki kandungan aktivitas sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui potensi yang dimiliki oleh tumbuhan sawo walanda sebagai antibakteri terhadap Propionibacterium acnes dan Staphylococcus epidermidis sebagai penyebab jerawat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) dan Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimum (KBM) dari ekstrak daun, ranting, biji dan buah sawo walanda. Penelitan dilakukan menggunakan metode mikrodilusi dengan variasi konsentrasi masing-masing ekstrak 32.000 ppm, 3.200 ppm, 320 ppm, 32 ppm, 3,2 ppm, 0.32 ppm, 0.032 ppm, 0.0032 ppm, 0.00032 ppm, dan 0.000032 ppm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keempat ekstrak yang digunakan memiliki aktivitas yang dapat menghambat dan membunuh bakteri. Ekstrak etanol daun sawo walanda memiliki KHM terkecil yaitu 32 ppm dibandingkan terhadap ekstrak ranting, buah dan biji dan KBM pada konsentrasi 320 ppm Berdasarkan penelitian ini, disimpulkan ekstrak etanol daun sawo walanda memiliki potensi yang paling baik sebagai aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Propionibacterium acne dan Staphylococcus epidermidis. --- Sawo walanda (Pouteria campheciana) is one of the plants that have antibacterial activity. The purpose of this study was determine the potential of Sawo walanda plant as an antibacterial against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis as the cause of acne. The purpose of this study is to determine the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) of sawo walanda leaf, twig, seed, and fruit extracts. The research was conducted using the microdilution method with variations in the concentration of each extract 32.000 ppm, 16.000 ppm, 8.000 ppm, 4.000 ppm, 2.000 ppm, 1.000 ppm, 500 ppm, 250 ppm, 125 ppm, and 62.5 ppm. The results showed that the four extracts used had an activity that could inhibit and kill bacteria. The ethanol extract of sawo walanda leaves has the smallest KHM at 4000 ppm compared to twig, fruit, and seed extracts and KBM at a concentration of 16,000 ppm. Based on this study, it was concluded that ethanol extract from sawo walanda leaves has the best potential for antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acne and Staphylococcus epidermidis.
