Abstract

Kucing merupakan hewan domestik yang rentan mengalami stres oksidatif akibat dari lingkungan, pola makan yang tidak seimbang, dan infeksi, sehingga memerlukan asupan antioksidan tambahan. Ampas ekstrak kunyit (Curcuma longa L.) digunakan sebagai sumber antioksidan alami yang dapat diformulasikan dalam bentuk suspensi untuk memudahkan pemberian. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan mengevaluasi sediaan suspensi multivitamin dengan penambahan ampas ekstrak kunyit sebagai antioksidan alami yang aman dan efektif untuk kucing. Penelitian ini dibuat tiga formula dengan variasi kadar ampas ekstrak kunyit: Formula I (0,036%), Formula II (0,072%), dan Formula III (0,108%), masingmasing formula dikombinasikan dengan vitamin B1, B2, B6, B12, dan L-Lysine HCl. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan melihat parameter fisik (organoleptik, pH, viskositas, volume terpindahkan, berat jenis, dan ukuran partikel) selama satu bulan, serta uji aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1- picrylhydrazyl). Hasil menunjukkan semua formula memenuhi parameter fisik. Formula III memiliki aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi (IC₅₀ = 33,922 ppm; sangat kuat), diikuti oleh Formula II (135,124 ppm; sedang), Formula I (191,954 ppm; lemah), dan basis (249,362 ppm; lemah). Uji aktivitas antioksidan setelah uji stabilitas, nilai IC₅₀ meningkat, namun Formula III tetap menunjukkan kontribusi tertinggi. Ampas ekstrak kunyit terbukti efektif sebagai antioksidan dalam sediaan cair yang aman dan praktis untuk kucing. ----- Cats are domestic animals that are susceptible to oxidative stress due to the environment, an unbalanced diet, and infections, so they require additional antioxidant intake. Turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) extract dregs are used as a natural antioxidant source that can be formulated in suspension form for easy administration. This study aims to design and provide a multivitamin suspension preparation with the addition of extract dregs as a natural antioxidant turmeric that is safe and effective for cats. This study created three formulas with varying levels of turmeric extract dregs: Formula I (0,036%), Formula II (0,072%), and Formula III (0,108%), each formula combined with vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, and L-Lysine HCl. Evaluation was carried out by looking at physical parameters (organoleptic, pH, viscosity, volume displaced, specific gravity, and particle size) for one month, as well as antioxidant activity testing using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl1-picrylhydrazyl) method. The results showed that all formulas met the physical parameters. Formula III had the highest antioxidant activity (IC₅₀ = 33,922 ppm; very strong), followed by Formula II (135,124 ppm; moderate), Formula I (191,954 ppm; weak), and base (249,362 ppm; weak). Antioxidant activity test after stability test showed an increase in the IC₅₀ value, but Formula III still showed the highest contribution. Turmeric extract dregs were proven to be effective as an antioxidant in a safe and practical liquid preparation for cats.
