Abstract
Mangostin merupakan senyawa yang terdapat pada tanaman manggis (Garcinia mangostana Linn). Mangostin memiliki keterbatasan terkait kelarutan dalam air. Oleh sebab itu, nanoemulsi menjadi salah satu metode yang dapat mengatasi keterbatasan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperole metode preparasi nanoemulsi mangostin yang sesuai. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah preparasi nanoemulsi mangostin metode Self-Nanoemulsifying Drug Delivery System (SNEDDS) menggunakan variasi cara dan kecepatan pengadukan. Formula nanoemulsi mengandung minyak kelapa murni sebagai pelarut isolat mangostin, sukrosa monordter 1750 sebagai surfaktan, dan gliserol sebagai ko�surfaktan. Pengadukan dilakukan secara konvensional dan menggunakan mixer dengan kecepatan 200, 750, 1000 dan 2000 rpm selama 30 menit. Evaluasi nanoemulsi terdiri atas uji organoleptis, uji pH, uji indeks bias, uji stabilitas, uji transmitan, analisis ukuran partikel, indeks polidispersitas dan zeta potensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nanoemulsi yang paling stabil adalah nanoemulsi dengan pengadukan 1000 rpm selama 30 menit. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan uji organoleptis tidak terdapat pemisahan, hasil stabilitas tidak menunjukkan dua fase, nilai pH memenuhi rentang, nilai transmitan mendekati nilai kejernihan air, ukuran partikel 218 ± 62,7, indeks polidispersitas 0,959, zeta potensial -69,9. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, kesimpulannya adalah nanoemulsi mangostin berhasil yang stabil diperoleh dengan metode SNEDDS menggunakan pengadukan dengan metode 2 pada kecepatan 1000 rpm selama 30 menit. --- Mangostin is a compound found in the mangosteen plant (Garcinia mangostana Linn). Mangostin has limitations regarding its solubility in water. Therefore, nanoemulsion has become one of the methods that can overcome these limitations. This research aims to obtain a suitable method for preparing mangosteen nanoemulsion. The research method used is the preparation of mangosteen nanoemulsion using the Self-Nanoemulsifying Drug Delivery System (SNEDDS) method with variations in stirring methods and speeds. The nanoemulsion formula contains pure coconut oil as the solvent for mangosteen isolate, sucrose monoester 1750 as the surfactant, and glycerol as the co-surfactant. Stirring is conducted conventionally using a mixer at speeds of 200, 750, 1000, and 2000 rpm for 30 minutes. The nanoemulsion is evaluated through organoleptic testing, pH testing, refractive index testing, stability testing, transmittance testing, particle size analysis, polydispersity index, and zeta potential testing. The research results show that the most stable nanoemulsion is obtained by stirring at 1000 rpm for 30 minutes. The evaluation results indicate no separation in the organoleptic test, stability results show no two-phase separation, pH value is within the range, transmittance value approaches the clarity of water, particle size is 218 ± 62.7, polydispersity index is 0.959, and zeta potential is -69.9. Based on this research, it can be concluded that a stable mangosteen nanoemulsion is successfully obtained using the SNEDDS method with stirring method 2 at a speed of 1000 rpm for 30 minutes.
