Abstract
Etnofarmasi adalah bagian dari ilmu farmasi yang mempelajari penggunaan obat dan cara pengobatan yang dilakukan etnik atau suku bangsa tertentu. Salah satu suku di Indonesia yang masih menjaga kelestarian budaya termasuk di bidang pengobatan adalah Suku Pekal. Kondisi alam yang melimpah, lokasi daerah yang terpencil, fasilitas pelayanan kesehatan yang terbatas, serta adanya pengetahuan pengobatan alami inilah yang menjadi alasan masyarakat Suku Pekal di Bengkulu Utara masih memanfaatkan berbagai tanaman yang diyakini berkhasiat obat untuk mengatasi penyakit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengkaji tanaman yang dimanfaatkan Suku Pekal sebagai obat meliputi jenis tanaman, jenis penyakit yang dapat diatasi dan cara pengolahan tanaman obat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan desktiptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan wawancara mendalam dan observasi kepada informan kunci yaitu tabib desa. Hasil yang didapatkan yaitu ditemukan 52 spesies dari 36 famili tanaman yang dimanfaatkan oleh Suku Pekal. Penyakit yang dapat diatasi dengan tanaman obat diantaranya penyakit yang terjadi pada sistem pernapasan, sistem pencernaan, sistem kadiovaskuler, sistem rangka, sistem reproduksi, sistem integumen, sistem ekskresi, sistem otot, sistem indra, sistem saraf dan sistem endokrin. Bagian tanaman yang banyak digunakan yaitu bagian daun sebanyak 30 spesies tanaman dan cara pengolahan yang banyak dipilih yaitu dengan cara direbus sebanyak 31 spesies tanaman. --- Ethnopharmaceutical is a part of pharmaceutical science that studies the use of drugs and methods of treatment carried out by certain ethnicities or ethnic groups. One of the tribes in Indonesia that still maintains cultural preservation, including in the field of medicine, is the Pekal Tribe. Abundant natural conditions, remote locations, limited health service facilities, and knowledge of natural medicine are the reasons the Pekal Tribe people in North Bengkulu still use various plants believed to have medicinal properties to treat diseases. The purpose of this study was to examine the plants used by the Pekal tribe as medicine, including the types of plants, the types of diseases that could be overcome and the processing methods for medicinal plants. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews and observations to key informants, namely village healers. The results obtained were 52 species from 36 plant families used by the Pekal tribe. Diseases that can be treated with medicinal plants include diseases that occur in the respiratory system, digestive system, cardiovascular system, skeletal system, reproductive system, integumentary system, excretory system, muscular system, sensory system, nervous system and endocrine system. The most widely used plant parts were the leaves as much as 30 plant species and the most preferred processing method was boiling as many as 31 plant species.
