Abstract
Bakteri endofit merupakan bakteri yang dapat hidup di dalam jaringan tanaman tanpa menimbulkan bahaya dan memiliki senyawa aktif yang sama seperti tanaman inangnya. Di sini, Orthosiphon aristatus atau yang dapat disebut juga dengan nama “Teh Jawa” dilakukan isolasi bakteri endofit dari bagian daun. Untuk mengetahui bakteri apa yang ada pada daun Kumis Kucing dan bagaimana aktivitas antimikrobanya terhadap bakteri patogen Staphylococcus aureus dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Bakteri yang telah diisolasi diidenfikasi dengan pewarnaan gram dan dengan metode analisis 16S rRNA. Bakteri endofit diekstrasksi dan kemudan diambil isolatnya untuk diuji aktivitas antimikrobanya. Dari keempat bakteri yang berhasil diisolasi dua diantaranya memiliki aktivitas antimikroba, yaitu isolat bakteri 6 (Acinetobacter schindleri) dan isolat bakteri 7 (Pantoea agglomerans). Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya zona bening yang terbentuk pada media yang diletakkan cakram isolat metabolit bakteri endofit. --- Endophytic bacteria are bacteria that can live in plant tissue without causing harm and have the same active compounds as their host plants. Here, Orthosiphon aristatus or what can be referred to as "Java Tea" is carried out isolation of bacteria from the leaves. To see what bacteria are on the Orthosiphon aristatus and how their antimicrobial activity against pathogenic bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Isolated bacteria were idenfied by gram staining and by the 16S rRNA analysis method. The endophytic bacteria was extracted and then the isolates were taken to be tested for their antimicrobial activity. Of the crude bacteria that were isolated, two of them with antimicrobial activity, bacterial isolate 6 (Acinetobacter schindleri) and bacterial isolate 7 (Pantoea agglomerans). This is indicated by the presence of a clear zone formed on the media which is placed on the disc of endophytic bacterial metabolite isolates.
