Abstract

--- Kabau seeds are one of the natural resources that have benefits as foodstuffs included in the Fabaceae tribe with the Latin name Archidendron bubalinum. Research on the analysis of total phenolic and flavonoid levels of kabau seed extract has been carried out using the UV-Vis spectrophotometer method. This study aims to determine the total phenolic and flavonoid levels in the Kabau seed extract using maceration extraction and continuous extraction using multilevel solvents, namely N-hexane, ethyl acetate and 96% ethanol. The results of phytochemical screening were positive for alkaloids, phenols, tannins, quinones, steroids. mono / sesquiterpenes and saponins. The results showed the total phenol content of the kabau seed extract, namely the maceration method and continuous extraction with N-hexane, ethyl acetate and 96% ethanol solvents, respectively, namely 1,917 gGAE/100g; 4,724 gGAE/100g; 6,614 gGAE/100g, and the continuous extraction method, respectively, are 5,986 gGAE/100g; 6,690 gGAE/100g; 8,371 gGAE/100g. Meanwhile, the determination of total flavonoid levels in the cabau seed extract using the maceration method were 3,244 gQE/100g; 3,839 gQE/100g; 4,458 gQE/100g. And the continuous extraction method for the Kabau seed extract were 2,675 gQE/100g; 3,294 gQE/100g; 3,814 gQE/100g.
