Abstract
Metanol merupakan pelarut organik berbahaya yang banyak digunakan di berbagai industri sehingga menjadi salah satu limbah yang banyak dilepaskan ke alam, sehingga akan diperlukan pengujian yang relatif cepat dan mudah untuk analisis kadar metanol. Metanol dapat dianalisis dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer uv-vis melalui penambahan reagen pewarna diantaranya reagen SNP (sodium nitroprusside), namun secara teoritis SNP sangat mudah bereaksi dengan senyawa nukleofilik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menetapkan pengaruh senyawa pengganggu pada dalam analisis kadar metanol menggunakan reagen SNP. Senyawa pengganggu yang digunakan yaitu CTM, metamizole, fenol, aseton, NaCl, natrium asetat. Hasil analisis menunjukkan kehadiran senyawa pengganggu fenol dan metamizole menunjukkan hasil absorbansi metanol mengalami penurunan, sedangkan kehadiran senyawa CTM dan aseton menunjukkan hasil absorbansi yang mengalami kenaikan. Senyawa garam memberikan hasil absorbansi metanol yang tidak beraturan. Secara keseluruhan kehadiran CTM dan metamizole menunjukkan gangguan pengukuran yang paling tinggi. --- Methanol is a dangerous organic solvent that is widely used in various industries so that it becomes one of the wastes that are released into nature, so a relatively quick and easy test is needed for the analysis of methanol levels. Methanol can be analyzed using uv-vis spectrophotometer by adding coloring reagents including SNP (sodium nitroprusside) reagent, but theoretically SNP is very easy to react with nucleophilic compounds. This study aims to determine the effect of interfering compounds on the analysis of methanol levels using SNP reagents. The interfering compounds used were CTM, metamizole, phenol, acetone, NaCl, sodium acetate. The results of the analysis showed the presence of phenol and metamizole interfering compounds showed a decrease in the absorbance of methanol, while the presence of CTM and acetone compounds showed an increase in absorbance results. The salt compound gives an irregular absorbance of methanol. Overall the existence of CTM and metamizole showed the highest measurement interference.
