Abstract
Alfa mangostin merupakan salah satu senyawa turunan xanton yang dihasilkan oleh tanaman manggis (Garnicia mangostana L.). Senyawa ini telah diketahui memiliki banyak efek farmakologis seperti antioksidan, antiinflamasi, antifungi, antibakteri, antituberkolosis, alzheimer dan antikanker. Salah satu permasalahan untuk mengisolasi senyawa ini adalah kelarutan karena banyak literatur yang menyebutkan bahwa alfa mangostin larut dalam pelarut organik seperti metanol, kloroform dan aseton tetapi belum ada literatur yang menyebutkan berapa bagian spesifik dari alfa mangostin yang dapat larut dalam pelarut tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kelarutan isolat alfa mangostin dalam beberapa pelarut organik seperti metanol, kloroform dan aseton dengan metode pengukuran kuantitatif dari panjang gelombang dan absorbansi sampel pada spektrofotometer UV dan gravimetri. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa jumlah isolat alfa mangostin yang larut secara gravimetri dalam pelarut metanol sebesar 168,795 mg/mL (perbandingan 1 : 5,9 pelarut), dalam pelarut kloroform sebesar 18,395 mg/mL (perbandingan 1 : 54,3 pelarut) dan dalam pelarut aseton sebesar 145,59 mg/mL (perbandingan 1 : 6,3 pelarut). Sedangkan nilai kelarutan isolat alfa mangostin secara spektrofotometri UV dalam pelarut metanol sebesar 135,65 mg/mL (perbandingan 1 : 7,37 pelarut), dalam pelarut kloroform sebesar 14,695 mg/mL (perbandingan 1 : 68 pelarut) dan dalam pelarut aseton sebesar 121,37 mg/mL (perbandingan 1 : 8,2 pelarut). --- Alpha mangostin is one of the xanthone derivative compounds produced by the mangosteen plant (Garnica mangostana L.). This compound has been known to have many pharmacological effects such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antibacterial, antituberculosis, alzheimer's and anticancer. One of the problems to isolate this compound is solubility because there is a lot of literature which states that alpha mangostin is soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, chloroform and acetone, but there is no literature that mentions how much specific part of alpha mangostin can dissolve in these solvents. This study aims to determine the solubility of alpha mangostin isolates in several organic solvents such as methanol, chloroform and acetone by quantitative measurement methods of wavelength and absorbance of samples on UV spectrophotometer and gravimetry. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the number of alpha mangostin isolates dissolved gravimetrically in methanol solvent was 168,795 mg/mL (1 : 5,9 solvent), in chloroform solvent was 18,395 mg/mL (1 : 54,3 solvent) and in chloroform solvent was 18,395 mg/mL (1 : 54,3 solvent). acetone solvent of 145,59 mg/mL (1 : 6,3 solvent ratio). Meanwhile, the solubility value of alpha mangostin isolate by UV spectrophotometry in methanol solvent was 135,65 mg/mL (1 : 7,37 solvent), in chloroform solvent was 14,695 mg/mL (1 : 68 solvent) and 121,37 mg/mL in acetone solvent (1 : 8,2 solvent ratio).
