Abstract

Bahan alam memiliki potensi sebagai tabir surya karena aktivitas antioksidannya. Salah satu tanamanya yaitu limbah kulit luar buah kopi robusta dan kulit ari buah kopi robusta. Efektivitas sediaan krim tabir surya didasarkan pada penentuan nilai Sun Protection Factor (SPF) yang menggambarkan kemampuan tabir surya dalam melindungi kulit dari eritema. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kegunaan kulit luar buah kopi dan kulit ari buah kopi robusta dalam bentuk sediaan krim dengan nilai SPF nya yang dapat menangkal aktivitas radikal bebas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan 5 tahap, yaitu determinasi, ekstraksi kulit buah kopi (ceri) robusta, ekstraksi kulit buah kopi (ceri) robusta, pembuatan sunscreen, dan pengecekan SPF (Sun protection Factor) pada sediaan krim sunscreen. Hasil nilai SPF krim ekstrak kulit luar dan kulit ari buah kopi robusta yang paling baik terdapat pada formulasi F3 dengan nilai krim kulit luar sebesar 3,57233 dan nilai krim kulit ari sebesar 4,73377. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai SPF yang paling baik pada sediaan krim tabir surya terdapat pada krim ekstrak limbah kulit ari kopi robusta F3 dengan nilai SPF 4,73377 dikelompokan memiliki proteksi sedang, dan pada krim ekstrak limbah kulit luar kopi robusta F3 dengan nilai SPF 3,57233 dikelompokan memiliki proteksi minimum. --- Natural ingredients have potential as sunscreens because of their antioxidant activity. One of the plants is the waste of the outer skin of the robusta coffee fruit and the epidermis of the robusta coffee fruit. The effectiveness of sunscreen cream preparations is based on the determination of the value of the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) which describes the ability of sunscreen to protect the skin from erythema. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of the outer skin of the coffee fruit and the epidermis of the robusta coffee fruit in the form of a cream preparation with an SPF value that can counteract free radical activity. The method used in this study was carried out in 5 stages, namely determination, extraction of robusta coffee berry skin (cherry), extraction of robusta coffee berry skin (cherry), making sunscreen, and checking SPF (Sun protection factor) on sunscreen cream preparations. The results of the best SPF value for the outer skin and epidermis cream of robusta coffee fruit were found in the F3 formulation with an outer skin cream value of 3.57233 and an epidermis cream value of 4.73377. The results showed that the best SPF value in sunscreen cream preparations was found in Robusta coffee F3 epidermis waste extract cream with an SPF value of 4.73377 which was grouped as having moderate protection, and in Robusta coffee F3 outer skin waste extract cream with an SPF value of 3.57233. classified as having minimum protection.
