Abstract
Kuersetin sebagai salah satu metabolit sekunder yang terkandung dalam daun jambu biji (Psidium guajava L.) dapat diduga menjadi salah satu senyawa yang mempunyai potensi sebagai antioksidan dan tabir surya. Jambu biji terdapat beberapa varietas yaitu, jambu biji merah, putih, dan kristal, tidak hanya terlihat pada jenis buahnya saja, namun dari segi morfologi daun dari ketiga varietas tersebut memiliki perbedaan. Adanya perbedaan varietas daun jambu biji akan menjadi faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kadar senyawa kuersetin. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kadar kuersetin dan mengetahui nilai SPF terhadap tiga jenis ekstrak varian daun jambu biji. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan adalah maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Penetapan kadar kuersetin dan penentuan nilai SPF dilakukan menggunakan spektrofotometri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar kuersetin ekstrak daun jambu biji putih, merah, dan kristal berturut-turut adalah 32,90%; 8,75%; 29,66%. Hasil penentuan nilai SPF pada konsentrasi 250 ppm ekstrak daun jambu bjji putih, merah dan kristal, berturut-turut sebesar 16,692, 18,363, dan 23,032. Ekstrak daun jambu biji kristal adalah yang paling berpotensi sebagai tabir surya daripada ekstrak daun jambu biji putih dan merah. --- Quercetin as one of the secondary metabolites contained in guava leaves (Psidium guajava L.) can be suspected to be one of the compounds that have potential as antioxidants and sunscreens. There are several varieties of guava, namely, red, white, and crystal guava, not only seen in the type of fruit, but in terms of leaf morphology, the three varieties have differences. The existence of different varieties of guava leaves will be a factor that can affect the levels of quercetin compounds. The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of quercetin and to determine the SPF value of three types of guava leaf extract variants. The extraction method used is maceration using 96% ethanol as solvent. Determination of quercetin levels and SPF values was carried out using spectrophotometry. The results showed that the levels of quercetin in the white, red, and crystalline guava leaf extract were 32,90%, respectively; 8.75%; 29.66%. Results The SPF value at a concentration of 250 ppm of white, red and crystalline guava leaf extract was 16,692, 18,363, and 23,032, respectively. Crystal guava leaf extract was the most likely to be a sunscreen than white and red guava leaf extract
