Abstract
Suplemen JET-20 merupakan formula baru hasil penelitian para staff STFI yang terdiri dari kombinasi isolat piperin, mangostin, kurkumin, metil sinamat, dan vitamin C sebagai suplemen peningkat daya tahan tubuh. Formulasi yang baru perlu dilakukan kajian keamanan penggunaannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengguji keamanan subkronis suplemen JET-20 terhadap fungsi hati dengan parameter kadar AST, ALT, dan bilirubin total pada tikus putih Wistar (Rattus Norvegicus) jantan dan betina dengan metode OECD 407. Pada penelitian ini, tikus dibagi kedalam 4 kelompok uji 28 hari yang terdiri dari kelompok kontrol normal, kelompok uji dosis 7,2 mg/kgbb, 500 mg/kgbb, 1000 mg/kgbb, serta 2 kelompok uji 42 hari (satelit) yang terdiri dari kelompok kontrol normal dan dosis 1000 mg/kgbb. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian bahan uji selama 28 hari dan 42 hari tidak menyebabkan munculnya gejala toksisitas maupun kematian dan dan adanya pengaruh pemberian suplemen JET-20 terhadap penurunan kadar AST, ALT, serta bilirubin total. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh tidak teramati adanya efek yang merugikan setelah pemberian suplemen JET-20 hingga dosis terbesar 1000 mg/kg. --- The JET-20 supplement is a new formula produced by STFI researcher which consists of a combination of piperine isolates, mangosteen, curcumin, methyl cinnamate, and vitamin C as an immune-boosting supplement. The new formula needs to be studied for its safety. The purpose of this study was to test the safety of subchronic supplementation of JET-20 on liver function with parameters of AST, ALT, and total bilirubin levels in male and female Wistar (Rattus Norvegicus) rats using the OECD 407 method. In this study the rats were grouped into 4 test groups. 28 days consisting of a normal control group, a test group at a dose of 7.2 mg/kgBW, 500 mg/kgBW, 1000 mg/kgBW, and 2 test groups 42 days (satellite) consisting of a normal control group and a dose of 1000 mg/kgBW . The results showed that the administration of the test material for 28 days and 42 days did not cause symptoms of toxicity or death and that there was an effect of JET-20 supplementation on decreasing levels of AST, ALT, and total bilirubin. Based on the results obtained, no adverse effects were observed after the administration of JET-20 supplements up to the largest dose of 1000 mg/kg.
