Abstract
--- Gombong bamboo (Gigantochloa pseudoarundinaceae) can be made into activated charcoal which is used as a body scrub cream preparation which has benefits as detoxification or eliminating unnecessary toxins. The purpose of the study was to determine the appropriate ratio of the emulsifier components in order to obtain the optimum formula so as to produce a body scrub cream with a good concentration of emulsifier and physical evaluation and to see the ability of the body scrub cream to absorb toxins or toxins. Emulsifier used stearic acid and triethanolamine, made 3 different concentrations in formula 1 of 10% stearic acid and 2% triethanolamine, formula II 15% stearic acid and 3% triethanolamine, formula III 20% stearic acid and 4% triethanolamine using the test method the absorption of activated charcoal qualitatively and physical evaluation test. The results of the research on the test for the absorption of activated charcoal qualitatively were a change in color from colored solution to clear and formula I on physical evaluation all met the requirements of both organoleptic tests, pH, viscosity, adhesion, spreadability and cream type. It can be concluded that in the absorption test, activated charcoal qualitatively has the ability to absorbent power and formula I is the best formula seen from the physical evaluation test.
