Abstract
--- Empirically Ashitaba leaves (Angelica keiskei (Miq.) Koidz.) are used by the people of Lombok to treat diabetes. This study aims to determine the activity of insulin sensitivity in ashitaba leaf herbal tea preparations. Herbal teas were made in two concentration variations, namely 1% w/v (Test 1) and 3.3% w/v (Test 11). The insulin-sensitizer test used 5 groups of mice, namely normal control, negative control, positive control (metformin) and 2 test groups, namely test 1 and test II. Each group was induced with a high-fat emulsion for 10 days except for normal control mice. The positive control was given metformin suspension and the test group I and test II were given ashitaba leaf herbal tea for 7 days. Insulin tolerance test was carried out for 1 day after treatment to assess insulin-sensitizer activity. The test results showed an increase in insulin sensitivity in each test group (p<0.05), assessed by comparing the vaine of the ursulin tolerance test constant (Krn) of the test group to the negative control group. Kin vahies in both test groups were greater than the negative control group, namely 53.95 and 58.83. Ashitaba leaf herbal tea showed activity to increase insulin sensitivity in male mice induced by high fat emulsion.
