Abstract
Biji kopi arabika defect adalah limbah yang berpotensi untuk menggantikan bahan kimia sintesis sebagai bahan aktif dalam formulasi produk kosmetik. Biji kopi arabika mengandung golongan senyawa flavonoid, tannin, saponin, alkaloid, steroida yang menunjukkan bahwa senyawa torsebut mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan dengan menentukan nilai Ces, menentukan nilai Sun Protection Factor dari ekstrak biji kopi arabika defect, dan menentukan formula dasar spray gel yang baik. Metode uji aktivitas antioksidan yang digunakan adalah metode DPPH (2,2- difenil-1-pikrihidrazil), sedangkan untuk efektivitas tabir surya dilakukan dengan menentukan nilai SPF secara in vitro menggunakan spektrofotometri dan optimasi formulasi dasar spray gel menggunakan gelling agent Karbomer 940 dengan konsentrasi B1 (0,1%), B2 (0,25%), dan B3 (0,5%) Hasil penelitian menunjukan ekstrak biji kopi arabika defect mempunyai nilai ICs 13,93 µg/ml. dan nilai Sun Protection Factor sebesar 6,77 serta hasil evaluasi formula dasar spray gel yang memenuhi persyaratan organoleptis, pH, viskositas, daya sebar, daya lekat dan pola penyemprotan yaitu pada konsentrasi karbomer 940 0.25% Dapat disimpulkan bahwa biji kopi arabika defect memiliki akivitas antioksidan dan mempunyai nilai Sun Protection Factor, sedangkan formula dasar spray gel terbaik yaitu pada formula dasar B2. --- Defective arabica coffee bean are wastes that have the potential to replace synthetic chemicals as active ingredients in formulations product cosmetic. Arabica coffee bean contain a class of flavonoid coumpound, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, steroids, which indicates that these coumpounds have antioxidant activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity by determining Cea determining the value of the Sun Protection Factor of defective arabica coffea bean extract and determining the basic formula for a good spray gel. The antioxidant activity test method used is the DPPH method (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl). while for the effectiveness of sunscreens it is done by determining the SPF value in vitro using spectrophotometry and optimization of the basic spray gel formula using the gelling agent Carbomer 940 with the concentration of B1 (0.1%), B2 (0,25%) and B3 (0,5%). The results showed that the defective arabica coffee bean extract had an ICse value of 13,93 µg/mL and a Sun Protection Factor value of 6,77 as well as the evaluation of basic spray gel formulations that fulfills the requirement of organoleptic, pH, viscosity, spreadability, adhesion and spray pattern namely at the the concentration carbomer 940 0,25%. It can be concluded that the Arabica defect coffee beans have antioxidant activity and have a Sun Protection Factor value, while the best basic formulu for spray gel is the basic formula B2.
